Cambridge/Boston, MA strongly preferred, potential flexibility in Schenectady. Travel to Cambridge at least quarterly will be required if not based in the Boston area.

This role will focus on income statement at GE Vernova, Segment, and Tier 2 levels to drive P&L visibility, analysis and process implementation for closing, planning, and reporting. This role will develop a strong partnership with the Cash, Controllership, and IT teams to drive process optimization and data accuracy. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the Income Statement and its components, firsthand experience with financial tools & software, experience with variance analysis and great attention to detail. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to strategic financial decision-making processes and gain valuable experience in a high-exposure, demanding environment. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Lead ongoing closing, reporting and analysis activities by collaborating with Segments and Tier 2 businesses as well as Corporate.
  • Analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L forecasts.
  • Own, drive and analyze organic calculations, variances, and key drivers and trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights to enhance P&L projections.
  • Support the development of financial models and tools to better pace P&L results across GE Vernova.
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations related to the income statement.
  • Support our external Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) reporting.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and decision-making processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial management and analysis.

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university or college 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance

Desired Characteristics: 

  • FMP Graduate 
  • Prior Experience in Corporate or Segment FP&A roles preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems 
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines  
  • Strong excel skillset, with use of data analytics tools preferred  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
