JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

This position is responsible for managing the site supply chain operations organization at one of Entergy’s regulated nuclear plants.  The site supply chain operations organization is responsible for procurement and management of nuclear safety related and non-safety related material and services, including QC Receipt Inspection.  This position serves as a site lead team member and the group interfaces with all plant departments including Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Operations, Chemistry, and Project Management, supporting work management, outage and on-line planning preparation and execution of work. 

 

The manager position is key in providing governance and oversight of all aspects of the materials and services procurement processes along with warehouse, inventory and logistics processes, supporting the station organization to improve plant performance and equipment reliability ensuring compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.  This position manages multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities and ensures the organization has a culture of being proactively engaged, anticipating material needs, solutions and improvement opportunities.  Manager ensures the use of corrective action program to document adverse conditions and performance deficiencies, perform dispositions, develop and implement corrective action plans, and verify effectiveness of actions taken. 

 

The Manager, Site Procurement reports to Senior Manager, Supply Chain Operations (Nuc).

The position at times may require travel to other Nuclear sites or Nuclear Corporate.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety/Human Performance: Ensure the Team always puts safety first. Actively promote strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools such as Close Call /Good Catch in addition to proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitoring and influencing Suppliers to proactively identify any safety concerns.
  • Materials and Services Procurement: Accountable for excellence in executing procurement of materials services.  Drives toward full optimization and utilization of the tiered procurement model, and leveraging of Entergy’s full spending power through effective engagement with category management, central procurement, and central contracts groups. 
  • Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics: Accountable for excellence in executing warehousing, inventory, and logistics strategies.  Accountable for developing and ensuring execution of warehouse standards, both for facility requirements and material control / material handling operations.  Ensures that facility issues that represent safety or quality concerns are addressed quickly and effectively.
