We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Engineer to oversee the development and execution of power generation projects combined with CHP, CCPP and carbon capture solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, project management, and a deep understanding of power plant design and operations. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This position is based out of San Juan Capistrano, CA and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to this location. This position may be required to travel up to 15% of the time.

- Project Planning and Management
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams including external consultants, technology providers and installers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Conduct risk management and hazard identification (HAZOP and HAZID) sessions
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Engineering and Design:
- Oversee the design and integration of civil, mechanical, electrical and control systems for power generation projects combined with multiple technical solutions, microgrids, energy storage systems, Fuel cells, CHP, CCPP, carbon capture, etc.
- Manage design and engineering of new power generation systems, processes and equipment and produce process flow diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to optimize plant performance and efficiency.
- Oversee the design and integration of civil, mechanical, electrical and control systems for power generation projects combined with multiple technical solutions, microgrids, energy storage systems, Fuel cells, CHP, CCPP, carbon capture, etc.
- Construction and Installation:
- Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to verify compliance with design specifications.
- Testing and Commissioning:
Lead the testing and commissioning of plant systems, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase.
Project Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
Prepare and present regular project status updates to stakeholders, including management, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Client and Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.
Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, and community representatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
