Asphalt Labor

Capital Paving and Construction is looking to fill Asphalt Laborer positions in the Springfield, MO area.  An Asphalt Laborer will work closely with the skilled asphalt crew and will engage in all forms of labor that are necessary for completion of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gather tools needed for the day
• Deliver water to the rollers and plate compactors
• Sweep and rake the deck
• Use shovels, rakes, brooms, and/or other hand tools 
• Direct traffic, as needed
• Assist operator, as needed
• Assist with minor equipment maintenance and cleaning of equipment

REQUIREMENTS

• General knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment
• Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record.
• Must be able to work as a team on all projects
• Lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Work overtime, nights, weekends, as needed
• Stand for extended periods of time
• Reliable transportation
• Willing to travel/work out of town
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
