About this Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a Director of Purchasing Operations who will lead the development and implementation of supply chain strategy to support enterprise goals. This position will develop capabilities and supply chain initiatives to support supply chain performance and is responsible for processes and infrastructure.

The Director of Procurement Operations is a key leadership role responsible for driving data-informed purchasing strategies, optimizing procurement systems, and ensuring operational excellence across the procure-to-pay lifecycle. This role will lead the procurement team with a strong focus on data analytics, performance measurement, system controls, and policy compliance. The Director will collaborate closely with Finance, Accounts Payable, and Supply Chain to enhance transparency, drive cost savings, and ensure efficient, scalable procurement processes that align with enterprise goals.

Some responsibilities include....

Lead Procurement Analytics & KPI Strategy

Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and performance metrics to monitor procurement efficiency, supplier compliance, spend trends, and savings performance across all categories.

​Oversee System Optimization and Data Integrity

Serve as the operational lead for procurement system performance, including ERP, catalog management, and requisition workflows, ensuring data accuracy and control across item master and vendor master records.

Drive Compliance & Internal Controls

Establish and enforce procurement policies, approval workflows, and exception management processes to ensure audit readiness, mitigate risk, and support fiscal accountability.

Enhance Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Process Performance

Partner with Accounts Payable and operational stakeholders to improve end-to-end purchasing operations, reduce cycle times, manage price variances, and increase automation and user satisfaction.

Vendor Performance & Strategic Sourcing Alignment

Collaborate with Sourcing, Value Analysis, and Contracting teams to ensure procurement execution aligns with contract terms, pricing agreements, and strategic sourcing objectives. Monitor vendor delivery and quality KPIs for continuous improvement.

Designs, implements, and administers Supply Chain strategic plan as approved by the Vice President of Supply Chain.

Creates an effective working relationship between purchasing, logistics, sourcing, accounts payable, finance, materials and vendors that supports the process of quality patient care.

Provide regular communications to Practices on Direct ship program on item issues.

Review P&L for Supply Chain related cost centers; Review actual activity for accuracy in reporting and propose adjusting entries when needed for reclass or spread of spend over the fiscal year.
