Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Materials leads the strategic direction of materials management across a multisite network. This role is responsible for defining the materials strategy, building organizational capability, and delivering sustained improvements in service performance, cost efficiency, and working capital effectiveness.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and execute the materials management strategy to support production goals, cost targets, and long-term business objectives.
Lead multiple materials teams and/or managers with accountability for organizational capability and succession planning.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drives performance improvements in On Time Delivery, Inventory Turns, Working Capital efficiency, and overall materials cost optimization.
Ensures the site’s materials strategy is fully aligned with global sourcing priorities and enterprise-wide supply chain initiatives.
Leads the site’s SIOP process to ensure alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans—driving cross functional collaboration, improving forecast accuracy, and enabling informed, long-range decision-making across the business.
Sponsor enterprise level continuous improvement efforts and ensure their long-term sustainability and adoption
Partner with Plant, Operations, and Supply Chain leadership on long-range planning and capacity strategies.
Lead change management initiatives related to systems, processes, or organizational transformations.
Establish governance frameworks that ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal control requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in materials or supply chain leadership.
Minimum of 5 years leading managers or multi-team organizations.
Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles within materials management, with a proven ability to streamline material flow, optimize inventory strategies, and eliminate waste across the supply chain.
Demonstrated success leading cross functional continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing supplier performance, and building high performing teams that embrace Lean thinking.
Ability to implement standardized processes, strengthen end-to-end visibility, and drive a culture of operational excellence in all aspects of materials planning, procurement, and logistics.
Experience working in defense or other regulated industries, with familiarity navigating compliance and security requirements.
