Software Test Engineer

Our team is actively seeking a highly skilled Software Test Engineer/Business Analyst to join our dynamic team serving our Department of Veterans Affairs Corporate Portfolio clients across the US. As a Test Engineer/Analyst, you will play a key role in the development and maintenance of our financial software solutions built on the C# platform. You will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, analyzing system requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our products’ performance, security, and user experience.

Responsibilities Include: 

• Analyze business and technical requirements to ensure they are complete, accurate, and testable.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand system functionality, workflows, and integration points.
• Provide insights and recommendations for system improvements and optimization.
• Document system specifications, use cases, and process flows.
• Assist in the design and implementation of system modifications and enhancements.
• Work with development and product team to build user stories ensuring the team has full understanding of requirements and business process. 
• Provides input to project plans to achieve performance-based objectives, enhancing implementation, technical integration and interoperability products and service. 
• Uses and applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. 
• Work with individuals at all levels, provide input to deliverables, execute multiple assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and adjust to changing client demands.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure compliance with organization standards and meet end-user requirements. 
• Create test schedules, testing approaches, and detailed test scripts, identifying relevant data for test scenarios. 
• Conduct walkthroughs on test cases/scripts with Project Managers, and Development Leads. 
• Document and communicate test results, supporting the analysis of results and resolution of open issues. 
• Resolve complex problems, document improvements to current procedures, and develop models for possible future configurations. 

Required Skills: 

• Proficient in testing on database platforms like Microsoft SQL or Oracle
• Testing applications written in/on languages/platforms such as .Net, Java, C#, HTML
• Creation of comprehensive test cases and test scripts
• Interpretation of functional and technical requirements
• Expertise in defect identification and resolution
• Preparation for and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Experience with and ability to define and document software requirements 
• Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Experience with Jira
• Experience and thorough understanding of Agile methodology and SDLC  
• Experience with Excel, SharePoint

Required Education, Experience, and Clearance: 

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years or more experience - OR – 7 years of relevant experience 
• Ability to obtain a VA Position of Public Trust – Medium Background Investigation (MBI)
