Accounting Assistant

Overview

Apogee is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our accounting team. As the Accounting Assistant, you will review expense reports and accounts payable processing. This role provides abundant opportunities to learn accounting nuances and acquire new skills.

 

This is a full-time position located in Colorado Springs, CO with the opportunity to telework for local candidates approximately 2 days a week. 

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

• Review, verify, and approve employee expense reports
• Compare supporting documentation to JTR/FAR requirements and company travel policy
• Compare expense reports to receipts and other supporting documents to verify accuracy
• Work with employees to resolve any discrepancies or missing information
• Prepare and enter Accounts Payable vouchers in the accounting system, as needed
• Prepare and scan documents for electronic filing
• Prepare accounting reconciliations, as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Education: High School diplomaYears of experience: 6-8 years of experience in accountingAdditional experience:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:Education: Associates degree in accounting, finance or related field - highly preferred

Years of experience: 2-3 years of experience in accounting

Additional experience: 

• Experience with Deltek Time & Expense

Location: Apogee Corporate Office, (8610 Explorer Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80920)

Hybrid: This position allows telework for local candidates - approximately 2 days per week 

Travel: CONUS travel up to 5% may be required 

Pay Range

USD $19.00 - USD $24.00 /Hr.
