SUMMARY OF ROLE
*12 hour shift Rotating Schedule - Days 7am-7pm
Drives electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an at-will employer, SIG/Scholle IPN serves the right to add to or modify this list to the extent it deems necessary.
- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
- Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
- Inventories materials systematically (i.e., by size, product, number of piece parts, etc.) on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
- Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
- Loads or unloads materials onto trucks.
- Lubricates truck, recharges batteries.
- Performs a daily safety inspection of the forklift before it is used.
- Verifies paperwork with the incoming or outgoing physical product.
- Delivers product to the designated departments.
- Moves product from the production departments to stock.
- Reports any problems to the Group Leader, Supervisor or Manager.
- Maintains safety programs and good housekeeping of all designated areas.
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or G.E.D required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to work all shifts and perform overtime
- Future training and/or education may be necessary to further job skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Power Point presentations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units or measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate mean, median, and mode, and apply SPC to the quality processes
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Virtual Client to perform effectively in daily activities
- Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical specifications including print.

- Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
