POSITION SUMMARY:

This role participates from start-to-finish in the support of new product and process introductions, working with Development to assure “critical to quality” product requirements are achieved in the development of new commercial products and that there is effective receivership into Manufacturing.


The Sr. Product Quality Engineer is expected to work independently, and at times lead efforts, in close collaboration with cross functional teams, Catalyst Design, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Laboratory. 


A key focus of this position is to ensure risk mitigation plans are effective and in place for the new products being developed, with respect to all relevant stakeholders (i.e., Development, Production, Quality, Laboratory, Catalyst Design).



PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive effective Risk Mitigation Program for new products being commercialized.
  • Lead the creation and release of quality documents (e.g., run control plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), work instructions, SOPs, PCRs, DCRs), working with Development and Manufacturing, for pulse runs through to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Lead the DFMEA and PFMEA work efforts for new products.
  • Support the development and introduction of product specifications.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality metrics, capability analysis, and statistical data on new products being introduced.
  • Facilitate, as receiver, turnover of new products from Development control to Production control.
  • Evaluate and improve methods and incorporate appropriate developing or established technologies into the organization’s operations.
  • Lead in-depth root cause analysis of product quality performance issues.
  • Lead and plan product/project prequalification as required to reduce project risks.




Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, math, or related technical area.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a new product introduction environment or an advanced degree in lieu of years of experience.
  • Experienced and working knowledge of both ISO 9001:2015. 
  • Solid skills in continuous improvement methodology, including SPC, defect prevention, and process qualification.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data using Statical tools such as Minitab and QI Macros.
  • Working knowledge of– APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Control Plan Methodology.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to influence key decisions with data and risk analysis.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
