About the role

Job Summary

The OPS Assistant Diving Coach will assist the Head Coach in the administration of all aspects of the sport program including coaching, recruiting, contest scheduling, supervising support sports staff, budget management, student athlete mentoring, and ensuring program compliance meets NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide on-deck skill instruction and coaching.
  • Travel with the team for competitions.
  • Complete trip reconciliations as needed.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.
  • Assist in recruiting highly qualified student-athletes.

Other Duties:

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires either four years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within two months of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout the country.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Swimming/Diving at the NCAA Division I level.
  • Experience with effective leadership, communication, coaching, and recruiting skills.

  • Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment.
  • Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
  • Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Present a professional image in word, action and attire.
  • Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement.
