What You’ll Do:
Support Patient Access & Experience (Registration & Coordination)
- Welcome students and manage check-in and check-out processes using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Verify insurance coverage, confirm eligibility, and collect payments when needed
- Schedule appointments for new and returning student patients
- Assist with prior authorizations and referral coordination
- Partner with clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
Deliver High-Quality Clinical Support
- Take medical histories and record vital signs
- Prepare patients for exams and explain procedures clearly and compassionately
- Assist providers during examinations and treatments
- Collect and process laboratory specimens; perform basic lab testing
- Administer medications and support prescription processes as directed
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, dressing changes, and suture/staple removal
- Prepare patients for diagnostic testing including X-rays and other procedures
- Maintain sterile environments and properly handle medical instruments and supplies
Promote Patient Understanding & Care Coordination
- Educate students on care plans and support their understanding of treatment instructions
- Provide general information about Student Health services and direct patients appropriately
- Collaborate with clinics and ancillary services to support continuity of care

What You Bring:
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
- Experience in a healthcare or ambulatory care setting
- Experience in college health or student health environments
- AAMA certification preferred
