This Opportunity   

In this role, you will lead a team of clinical informaticists to develop the informatics infrastructure of Truveta’s data to ensure our data is the highest-quality, most complete and most usable data for our customers. Your team will be responsible for driving robust processes for the expansion of the Truveta data model, normalization of data using ML-based approaches, the evaluation of data quality, and providing expert guidance for our customers in empowering their research. You will serve on the Truveta Leadership Team and regularly engage and influence with leaders across the company, across engineering, product management, research, marketing, and more.  

A successful clinical informaticist at Truveta is one who: 

  • Is fastidious and detail-oriented and unafraid to roll up their sleeves and dive directly into the data to better understand how best to achieve their goals 
  • Loves working in a fast-paced environment with numerous moving parts 
  • Is energized through cross-team collaboration and building products with a large set of stakeholders 
  • Is an excellent written and oral communicator ranging from customer-facing scenarios to highly-technical internal conversations
  • Is passionate for people management and committed to the growth and well-being of their team
  • Provides clear guidance and prioritization to team members and stakeholders to drive clarity and focus, aligned with customer and business goals  
  • Is clinically-minded, understanding the nuances of clinical practice and how these nuances manifest in real-world data 

 Key Qualifications   

  • MD/DO/MBBS, Nursing, or Pharmacist credentials with graduate study/credentialing in clinical informatics with a deep understanding of clinical workflows and practices 
  • 5+ years of experience working with clinical ontologies (SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC) and clinical data standards (FHIR, OMOP, USCDI) 
  • Hands-on experience in healthcare analytics, leveraging EHR data for research, operational analytics, or other related disciplines including hands-on experience with SQL, R or Python 
  • Understanding of how machine learning can transform traditional healthcare analytics 
  • Experience managing, hiring, and retaining talented teams  
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to communicate with clarity across audiences  
  • Able to work with teams on west coast hours. We celebrate and embrace a distributed team that works well together remotely and meets at least twice per year in person.
