A Brief Overview
The Program Manager(s) is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and facilitating programs for the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Healthcare Education Initiative. This innovative model aims to provide successful career opportunities for high school students in Philadelphia and address healthcare talent shortages.
One Program Manager leads operational oversight and focuses on overseeing the progression of tasks, managing the initiative’s project workflows, and ensuring timely execution. Key responsibilities include capturing and tracking tasks in project management tools, supporting data analysis, reporting, and coordinating internal efforts with CHOP and school partners.
One Program Manager leads program development, and the focus is centered on community and partner engagement, event coordination, and exposure activities. Key responsibilities include organizing external events, leading recruitment efforts, and ensuring the successful integration of external stakeholders into the initiative.
Both Program Managers lead the execution and promotion of the initiative and report to the Director of School Partnerships in the Office of Community Impact.
The role requires working onsite 1-2 days a week, with other days spent working from home, at partner schools, or attending outreach events/meetings.
What you will do
Program Management & Development
- Perform project management duties to ensure the achievement of all program metrics and milestones
- Establish and maintain quality improvement protocols and standard operating procedures
- Secure and manage budgeted resources to support the initiative’s long-term success
- Draft program narratives and data reports for the Director's review and approval
- Anticipate potential delays and take appropriate mitigation steps
- Advance CHOP’s broader strategy around school partnerships
Outreach & Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to increase program awareness and engagement
- Partner with the data/evaluation team to measure program effectiveness, interpret results, and recommend solutions to the Director
- Strategize, manage and lead volunteer opportunities and outreach events
- Develop presentations and lead meetings to share and align strategic goals
- Coordinate with Communication teams and public relations efforts to enhance visibility and engagement
Operational Excellence
- Maintain comprehensive project management tools and systems
- Support funder stewardship and administration of program financials
- Stay aware of industry trends in school partnerships and workforce development
- Support strategies to maximize CHOP's investments in the initiative
- Hire, supervise, train, and mentor staff as the initiative grows
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED High School Diploma / GED Required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least ten (10) years experience in customer service interactions across various departments Required and
- At least eight (8) years of project management experience in a complex environment Required and
- At least five (5) years experience building strong relationships and working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds at various organizational levels Required
- Independent managerial experience at a senior level Preferred
- Experience mentoring, teaching, or planning activities for teenagers from underrepresented backgr
