The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is looking for a Sr. Cloud Solutions Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture Team. We empower the Federal Reserve business technology landscape by guiding development and management of solutions with cloud-centric strategic architecture. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team driving solution architecture to modernize in the cloud. This requires collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams in a complex environment adopting Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), applying product thinking to accelerate business value.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design and analysis for architecture implementation across a group of applications/technologies based on enterprise business strategy; build and migrate applications, software and services onto the AWS platform

  • Partner with architecture and Information Technology Services leadership and peers to help identify business needs and shape IT vision by offering appropriate strategic and tactical technical solutions along with a transition roadmap.

  • Define strategic direction in terms of the technologies, standards, processes, and current/target state cloud architectures.

  • Work across technology, organization, and business to outline large transformation programs and work with program leads and business lines to deliver on them.

  • Partner with other Enterprise, Platform, Security, Data, and Infrastructure Architects to deliver best in class solutions.

  • Demonstrate leadership and agility when responding to change or when working with ambiguity.

  • Help the organization integrate architecture design patterns, system standards, and security measures.

  • Collaborate, code alongside, and guide Software Engineers to implement standard methodologies and support their personal growth and development.

  • Review detailed designs and collaborate with the delivery team for best solutions. Drive decisions by following applicable frameworks, patterns, and standards and ensuring that a shared technical and architectural vision is realized.

  • Apply business and technical skills to rapidly design well-architected solutions that help system strategy and customers accelerate their adoption of AWS cloud.

  • Build deep relationships with decision makers within customer/service line accounts to be “Cloud advocates”

  • Understand emerging technology trends (GenAI, serverless, Integrated DevOps) and their practical applications to enable evolving business and operating models

  • Solve complex problems and resolve technological disagreements; establish stature as architect-on-point for specific functions/business services lines.


Qualifications:

  • Large-scale systems integration involving on-premises technology and public cloud platforms with experience architecting and deploying production cloud workloads on AWS

  • Enterprise Architecture experience, certifications, and building modern cloud strategies

  • 8+ years of technical depth in software development, cloud-native, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics

  • Builder’s experience architecting, migrating, redefining or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud

  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications

  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of current technology, industry standards and frameworks, information management & emerging technology trends and industry developments.

  • Advanced level knowledge and recent ex
