About the role

The Musco Risk Management Department is seeking a Safety Coordinator to work from our Oskaloosa location. The purpose of this position is to develop, implement, and coordinate programs, processes and procedures to promote a safe working environment for Oskaloosa Operations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Be a resource for safety and environmental questions and concerns arising from Oskaloosa-based operations.

  2. Provide Online / Classroom / Hands on Training and educational opportunities on safety topics for your respective Team Members.

  3. Provide support and programs, forms, and procedures documentation for Oskaloosa-based operations.

  4. Conduct Equipment / Site Inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.

  5. Facilitate an Environmental, social, and governance program, developing and documenting Musco’s ESG systems.

  6. Actively be involved in accident investigations to determine root cause, necessary preventative measures, incident documentation, safety reports and updates to leadership team.

  7. Responsible for direction and operational support for First Aid Providers.

  8. Responsible for the direction and operational support of a safety committee with members representing different departments.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  1. A bachelor’s degree and three years of safety experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Specifications:

  1. Successful experience creating and implementing policies and projects.

  2. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.

  3. Ability to work with a variety of people, both within Musco and outside the company.

  4. Experience facilitating group meetings and processes.

  5. Previous experience with accident investigation

  6. Ability to lead others without direct supervisory responsibilities

  7. Ability to work in a team environment.

Other Special Requirements:

  1. Regular travel to other company locations required.

  2. Some on call and weekend work required
