Job Description

About the role:

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Deliver underwriting assessments based on strong risk selection experience and critical thinking.
• Support current and future clients by developing strong knowledge of their unique needs and requirements.
• Effectively interact with senior members of the team as well as the medical staff.
• Protect mortality expectations while balancing client needs.
• Effectively interact with retro partners as needed.
• Assist in special projects involving our team as we grow.
• Participate in the client audit process.
• Serve as a utility player in the team as to special projects or initiatives based on experience such as accelerated underwriting rules testing or monitoring.

Qualifications

About you:

• Minimum 10 years underwriting experience. Direct experience and reinsurance (optional). Strong substandard underwriting experience.
• Approval limit of $5,000,000 or higher, all ratings. Additional training an industry designation preferred but not a must.
• Ability to perform effectively to meet time service standards and prioritize accordingly.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with clients as well as retrocession partners as needed.
• Enjoy working in a growing cooperative team environment.
• Effectively interact with Medical Consultant.
• Willing to work towards continuous improvement.

Education / Further Qualifications:

• College Education preferred.
• industry designation preferred but not a must.
• Willingness to develop further and expand knowledge base.
