Overview:
The Production Manager will coordinate all production floor activities to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position will maintain a high degree of visibility, access, and open communication with all team members including Leadership, Sales, and Production. The Production Manager will model core values of being all in, competent, and positive energy.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and supervision on the production floor and associated personnel.
- Coordinate with teams to identify needs, priorities, dependencies, and risks
- Supervises, coordinates, and monitors activities of Production team
- Establish and manage production schedules, processes and accountability
- Effectively motivate, train and communicate with team to assure superior levels of safety, reliability, productivity and quality.
- Oversee quality standards and overall quality process for all products
- Instill operational knowledge and procedures to team to ensure consistent performance and proper use of production resources
- Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify maintenance
- Work closely with leadership to create and execute action plans and tactics that support our long-term goals and strategy
- Monitor performance on established KPIs; production schedules, quality, material usage, purchasing, safety
- Handle conflict in a thoughtful, forthright and timely manner
- Support the development of each team member through training, performance plans, coaching, and mentoring
- Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new team members
- Support Leadership with resolving issues related to material, delivery, quality, process, and employee performance
- Report production numbers, quality issues, and safety issues
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management
Skills and Experience:
- Innate ability to build great relationships and embrace people leadership
- Dynamic communication skills, written and verbal
- Critical thinking - ability to problem-solve using empirical/data-driven approaches
- Necessary understanding of Slate’s quality control standards
- Proficient with equipment operation, manufacturing processes, and procedures
- Superb attention to detail, product quality, and safety procedures
- Interest and ability to grow professionally with support from upper management
- Basic computer knowledge and skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
