Description

The Mechatronics and Robotics Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated systems and robotics equipment. This individual will work closely with engineers and operators to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues in robotic and mechatronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on robotic systems, conveyor belts, automated machinery, and mechatronic devices.
• Diagnose and repair issues related to electrical circuits, mechanical components, sensors, controllers, and software.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to reduce operational interruptions

System Calibration and Testing:

• Calibrate and fine-tune robotic systems, sensors, and actuators to ensure accurate performance.
• Run diagnostics and tests on robotics systems to ensure proper functionality and efficiency.

Troubleshooting:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on industrial robots, conveyors, and automated machines.
• Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and software to detect faults or malfunctions in systems.

Documentation:

• Maintain records of all repairs, inspections, calibrations, and maintenance activities.
• Update maintenance manuals and troubleshoot guides.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with engineers, operators, and supervisors to assess and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.
• Provide technical support for machine operators and junior technicians on equipment operation and maintenance.

System Upgrades and Installation:

• Install and upgrade robotics equipment and mechatronic systems as per design specifications.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, industry standards, and company policies during all maintenance activities.
• Actively participate in safety audits and inspections.
• Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste products.

Continuous Improvement:

• Suggest improvements to system performance, uptime, and efficiency.
• Stay current on the latest developments in mechatronics and robotics technologies to ensure the organization is using cutting-edge solutions.

Requirements

• Experience:
  • Proven experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing robotic systems, automated machinery, or mechatronic devices.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and SCADA systems is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems, robotics programming languages and mechatronics principles.
  • Experience with sensors, actuators, controllers, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills to work with both technical teams and non-technical personnel.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
