About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization
Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.

Co ordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with daily cl inic preparation process, patient identification, patient checkin/out, c harge posting, cash management and patient appointment scheduling. Posit ion also involvescustomer service, message distribution, ancillary sched uling and preparation and referrals management.
Work Performed
Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day p atients and completing next day preparation activities. Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts. Pick up X-rays, office charts, me dical records, reports, petty cash and collections bag. File history she ets, ancillary reports and all other required patient record documentati on.Return medical records. Attach HIPPA/Medicare documents to the encounter forms. Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice. Identify corre ct patient information in Maestro Care. Verify patient demographic data. Edit Maestro Care as needed. Accurately identify the appropriate accoun t for patient visit. Present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure. Completes all Maes tro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts. Collect and p ost co-payments and balances on accounts due. Imprint all patient specif ic chart documents and requisition/transmittal documents. Copy, file and distribute insurance cards as indicated by procedure. Coordinate all la bs/procedures as requested. Maintain private physicianoffice charts. Pre pare encounter forms. Investigate andaccount for missing encounterforms . Audit encounter forms for completeness and accuracy beforebatching. Ba tches encounter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care.Schedule tests a nd procedures. Complete and distribute ancillary service requisitions. E xplain billing to patients according to PRMO credit and collection polic ies. Determine the amount of cash tobe collected by scheduling patients into the correct appointment type, entering the price based on insuranc e plan.Check-out patients. Make returnappointments. Answer telephone, t ake and deliver messages to physicians, nurses andothers. Report obtaine d medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely and timely. Disseminate messages according to practice commu nication standards
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</d iv>
Strong verbal and written communication. Basic PC and data en try skills. Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette. De monstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, provide oral and wri tten instructions, interact tactfully with customers unestablished maint ain effective relationships with others. Must be ableto apply specific d epartmental policiesrules and regulations relating toverifying patient information, collecting payments and maintainin records and forms.
