POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the efficient scheduling of the Engineering, Maintenance and Calibration activities to maximize operational uptime. Position is accountable for successful coordination with Supply Chain, Operations Management and Manufacturing Technology and Science groups to deliver one valid plan. This position takes a lead position in root cause problem solving and CAPA implementation and is part of the engineering management team to manage and direct work as assigned.
ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Meets with Operations, Supply Chain and Validation to develop integrated operation and maintenance schedules.
• Schedule preventive maintenance/calibration activities, labor and resources in CMMS to maximize equipment uptime and minimize impact to manufacturing operations.
• Update the communication Tier and maintenance boards to capture equipment availability, associated metric and important communications to engineering and maintenance personnel.
• Keep management informed of any issues that would prevent the Maintenance and Engineering team from achieving key metric goals proactively and develop options.
• Formulate action plans to correct issues within the plant. Able to go to the floor and diagnose then lead root cause problem solving sessions.
• Implement and manage CAPAs to corrective and preventive actions for the department.
• Track and update departmental safety metrics.
• Conduct Non-Routine work order backlog meetings.
• Generate key metrics reports as required.
• Update PM tasks and Schedules in CMMS to effectively balance the work load.
• Provide direction to the maintenance team as needed.
• SOP updating and development.
• Capital expenditure and Non-capital expenditure project execution and tracking.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays on short notice.
• Drive cost control and cost tracking for Maintenance Department
• Assist in ensuring planned work has proper EHS permitting (hot work permits and job plans)
Your experience and qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
Education/Certification/Experience/Skills:
• Associates degree or other higher level education.
• Minimum of Five (5) Years Maintenance or Planning Experience within Pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated industry.
• Supervisory Experience a plus.
• Financial Degree is a plus
• Masters Degree is a plus
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP-PM a plus, Microsoft Suite of Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point).
• Background on equipment preventive maintenance programs, Total Productive Maintenance, equipment reliability and failure modes, efficiency metrics a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Constant:
• Standing for extended periods of time at work station or equipment.
• Walking to move short distances quickly and frequently.
• Using fingers to perform activities such as picking, pinching or typing.
Frequent:
• Stooping, Kneeling and/or Crouching – bending body, spine and/or legs.
• Twisting/Reaching – turning at waist and extending hands and/or arms in any direction.
Occasional:
• Sitting for extended periods of time at work station or mobile equipment.
• Climbing – use of feet, legs, hands and/or arms to ascend or descend.
• Crawling – using hands and knees or hands and feet to move about.
• Pushing and/or Pulling – using upper extremities to exert force.
• Grasping – applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
