Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

This is the entry level of the series. Positions typically work under direct supervision, performing entry level work following clearly defined work procedures and priorities. Duties include performing classroom work such as recording enrollment; preparing and organizing materials used by children for their projects; and monitoring activities such as nap times, free time, snacks, and lunches.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $2,961.00 - $3,643.00 | Range 30 Steps D-M

Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School graduation or equivalent; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Six (6) months experience in an early learning program serving groups of young (birth to 5) and/or school age children OR equivalent education.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older by time of hire.

  • Background clearance through the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) prior to hire.

  • Must meet the required criteria of having 12 aligned college credits in ECE Core Competencies or a CDA (Child Development Associate) within 5 years of hire.

Requirements Upon Hire:

  • HIV/Aids Bloodborne Pathogen Training upon hire.

  • Basic First Aid or Pediatric First Aid Certification upon hire.

  • Basic CPR and/or Infant/Child CPR certification upon hire.

  • Washington State Food Worker Card upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Initial ECE certificate or equivalent.
