About the role

The Community Impact Team (CIT) oversees JPMorgan Chase’s (JPMC) $30 billion commitment to advance racial equity by addressing the drivers of the racial wealth divide, affecting underserved communities including Black, Hispanic, and Latino communities. The team governs, coordinates, tracks, and reports on the Firm’s $30 billion commitment across JPMC’s lines of business; provides localized insights to bring JPMC CEOs proximate to on-the-ground challenges facing underserved communities; and ensures national-level commitments translate into city-level strategies, activities, and impact.   

Within CIT, you are part of the Local Execution Team that ensures we lead impact in specific communities across the U.S. with a focus on building trust through active listening and partnering to address local concerns.  The Regional Leads deliver governance and reporting on local REC progress and impact, provide strategic advice on closing the wealth gap through delivering data and insights to help identify and prioritize market opportunities in support of business growth, build connectivity across JPMC LOBs, and help identify, capture, and escalate product and service gaps and opportunities identified at the local level.  The team is empowered to escalate the feedback to JPMC’s lines of business to make systemic changes at scale – a critical component to sustain meaningful impact to Black, Hispanic, and Latino communities.  Additionally, the Regional Leads provide oversight of city level strategies and impact in partnership with local market leaders across lines of business. 

You will spend a significant amount of time in local communities to understand challenges specific to the area.  You will partner with internal community-facing roles (Bankers, Branch Managers, Small Business Consultants and Home Lending Advisors) and external community leaders (non-profits representing Black, Hispanic, and Latino and other underserved consumers and small businesses; and government representatives) in partnership with Community Managers, Corporate Responsibility and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Centers of Excellence to engage internal and external partners to address community needs to close the racial wealth gap.  We are a mission-driven team focused on building trust in local communities by actively listening, addressing concerns and needs and driving change within JPMC’s lines of business to be a better Bank for all with sustainable impact.  

The Regional Lead for the Northeast focusing specifically on New York, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.    

Responsibilities

  • Key leader to build, synthesize and implement overall local engagement operating model for the Racial Equity Commitment in the Northeast
  • Partner with local primary stakeholder groups (City Impact Team, Local One Chase Leaders, REC City Executive Sponsors, Local MLT) to help drive outcomes towards closing the racial wealth gap in underserved communities, in support of local business objectives, and to build trust
  • Leverage data and analytics to understand local communities and JPMC’s network and deliver governance and reporting on local REC progress and impact 
  • Facilitate discussions with local leaders to build sustainable local plan to address opportunities and help to localize national strategies and ensure long-term success; Build connectivity across LOBs and amplify efforts (i.e., initiatives, events) organized by local leaders
  • Provide strategic advice on closing the wealth gap through delivering data and insights to help identify and prioritize market opportunities in support of business growth
  • Help identify, capture, and escalate product and service gaps and opportunities at the local level
  • Partner closely with community facing partners (i.e., Community Engagement, Community & Business Development, and DEI Centers of Excellence) to engage with community partners on efforts to close the racial wealth gap

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years industry experience in at least one of the following fields: branch banking, home lending, affordable housing, small business, or community and economic development
  • Strong project management experience with proven ability to build a framework to operationalize partner engagement, strategy development, program review and results  
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with desire of using both in collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Proven exceptional relationship building skills inside and outside the organization – embraces different points of view and constructive feedback; collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • Proven experience in working across departments, lines of business within large organizations
  • Uses data to support POV and decision-making
