About the role

Overview

The Sr. Program Lead, Restaurant Food Safety provides calibration and training to internal and external teams and partners including Chick-fil-A Franchisees, Operations Leads, Field Staff and various other CFA partners. The primary function of this role is to support the alignment, calibration, and training of the 3rd party company field team that performs food safety audits for CFA Inc. This consulting service includes providing expertise in all areas related to food safety, the health of restaurant Team Members, and any/all food safety requirements to 3rd party partners and internal business partners that require same/similar training.

Responsibilities

Food Safety Sr. Program Lead

  • Serve as the technical expert on prioritization, energy focus and resources to strengthen food safety 3rd party auditing services including calibration and training on Chick-fil-A food safety standards.
  • Provide expertise to 3rd party food safety service providers in the calibration of the major Health Department risk factors and compliance to the FDA Food Code
  • Partner with the regional food safety leads to identify, diagnose, and support resolution of Restaurant and market level food safety or Team Member health risks
  • Independently presents and trains internal and exterior on food safety best practices and culture.
  • Aid restaurants in defining both short-term and long-term food safety and Team Member Health culture wins
  • Represent and influence Restaurant-level Food Safety needs to the greater food safety team and broader organization for the highest risk opportunities based on Support Team feedback
  • Review Restaurant Food Safety challenges to identify potential root causes and determine the most appropriate consulting support to determine steps toward solutions for highest risks
  • Support internal relationships with other departments to influence improved food safety and Team Member health training and consulting systems across the organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a food safety subject matter expert (Restaurant experience preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science such as: Food Science, Biochemistry, Engineering, Environmental Health Science, Chemistry, Biology or other related area
  • Ability to work in a technical area and a non-technical area (such as a restaurant environment).
  • Ability to influence change in a complex environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build long term, trust based relationships
  • Maintain high standard for achieving goals, process utilization, and strive for continuous improvement
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and priorities
  • Attention to detail and organization skills with in-depth operational knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant business experience
  • Advanced degree in related specialization area
  • Spanish speaking
