UI/UX Assistant

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a UI/UX intern with experience to join our Commercial Cloud Services Team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces, with a strong focus on usability, performance, and security.  Under the guidance of our seasoned UX/UI professional, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our automated personnel and environment onboarding solution. Collaborate remotely with our innovative team and contribute fresh ideas to enhance functionality. This two-month internship offers a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and make a real impact in the realm of UI/UX design.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with our UX/UI professional to understand and contribute to the design process for a commercial product focused on automated personnel and environment onboarding.
• Assist in updating the user interface (UI) design utilizing Material-UI (MUI) components and Figma prototyping tools under the guidance of our mentor.
• Engage in remote teamwork, participating in virtual meetings and communicating effectively to ensure project milestones are met.
• Utilize critical thinking and creativity to provide valuable insights and solutions to enhance user experience (UX) and interface functionality within the two-month internship period.
• Create designs that align with the user needs; prepare interaction diagrams, mockups, and wireframes
• Design and present work to team members for review and feedback
• Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Entry level position with experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role.
• In a Bachelor’s degree program in graphics design, computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with a variety of design and prototyping tools such as AdobeXD, Figma, Miro, Mural
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
