Join us on this meaningful journey where your skills, compassion and dedication will make a remarkable difference in the lives of those we serve</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><span><strong>How you’ll contribute</strong></span></p><p>A <strong>Nurse Extern</strong> who excels in this role:</p><ul><li>Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary patient care team to support safe, high-quality patient care.</li><li>Provides direct patient care under the direction, delegation, and supervision of a Registered Nurse.</li><li>Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and observations to the supervising RN.</li><li>Documents patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.</li><li>Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and ambulation.</li><li>Assists with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and other patient care activities as appropriate.</li><li>Provides patient and family education based on age, culture, developmental level, and identified learning needs.</li><li>Advocates for the physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of patients.</li><li>Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and critical thinking while functioning within the Nurse Extern scope of practice.</li><li>Participates in departmental performance improvement, safety, and quality initiatives.</li><li>Assists with orientation and training activities as assigned.</li><li>Participates in required meetings, educational programs, and competency validations.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p> </p><p><span><strong>Why join us</strong></span></p><p>We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Additional requirements include:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with independently with appropriate supervision. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress clinical environment. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Licenses: Must have a current Tennessee or compact state RN license.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Education: Associate's degree required.
