General Description: The HR Generalist will support UCA’s human resources functions by managing recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and performance management while fostering a positive and Christ-centered work environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, a strong understanding of HR practices, and a heart for supporting our faculty and staff in alignment with the values and mission of the school.
UCA recognizes administration as integral part of the 5-fold ministry given to the church in Ephesians 4:11-13. As such, UCA administrators serve as ministers to help advance the mission and vision of United Christian Academy.
Reports To: The Director of Finance
1. Personal/Spiritual Leadership

2. Human Resource Functions
- Advises the Director of Finance on a variety of employment topics/concerns for the purpose of ensuring he/she is current on relevant concerns.
- Directs recruitment functions (E.g. job descriptions, job postings, career fairs, interview scheduling, onboarding), ensuring that selection procedures comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Assists supervisors in hiring process for the purpose of ensuring positions are filled by the individual that best meets the needs of UCA.
- Collaborates with school principals, the office manager and other key leaders to implement an effective orientation program for new faculty and staff.
- Administers a wide variety of personnel policies and programs (E.g. orientation, contracts, compensation, etc.) for the purpose of conforming to school policies, relevant laws, contracts and agreements.
- Participated in establishing, and implements annual departmental goals, objectives, and priorities.
- Audit departments for the purpose of ensuring human resource practices are implemented as directed by UCA procedures policies and/or state/federal regulation.
- Directs certification processes for the purpose of ensuring certificated staff are properly certified per ACSI and/or state requirements.
- Develop, plan and evaluate HR procedures and policies for the purpose of ensuring departments are operating effectively and efficiently.
- Responsible for the production and revision of the UCA Employee Handbook.
- Monitors all employee appraisal processes and teachers on plan for improvement (PIP), ensuring highly qualified staff are retained by UCA in compliance with regulation and policy.
