The Lead Reproductive Health Assistant (RHA) provides direct patient care, supervises RHA staff in absence of the Health Center Manager, trains and develops RHA staff, manages Health Center flow, and assists with Risk & Quality Management activities. This position is under the supervision of the Health Center Manager.
Essential functions:

Provide direct patient care as scheduled, in compliance with all Planned Parenthood of Illinois protocols and procedures, to include:

educating and counseling patients in reproductive health matters,
-

performing routine lab tests,
-
-
-
maintaining medical records and logs; ensuring lab logs are accurate, up to date and in compliance,
-

-
scheduling patients and responding in a professional manner to the needs of the patients,

participating in health center efforts to achieve medical visit and productivity goals.

Assume operational responsibility for the Health Center activities in the absence of Health Center Management, including supervising RHA staff, and assuming responsibility for the efficient functioning of daily health center operations by ensuring patients are seen in a timely manner according to benchmarks and being a patient advocate to ensure patients’ needs are met at the time of visit.

Provide RHA training and development as assigned by the Health Center Manager based on their skill proficiencies.

Reporting inventory shortages and needs to the Health Center Management.

Assist in the preparation for health center audits.

Practice a market and customer-oriented approach to health care delivery, including the identification of trends and issues relevant to the local community and health care industry, the health center, and to Planned Parenthood of Illinois in general.

Participate in responding to and maximizing organizational benefits resulting from trends identification.

Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to remain informed about PPIL protocols, policies, and procedures.

Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to PPIL core values of access, activism, care, confidentiality, diversity, excellence, integrity, respect, self-determination, and stewardship; practice these values in relations with internal and external customers.
