JOB SUMMARY: The Facility Maintenance II role performs a variety of activities involved in the operation and maintenance of the facility’s ice, equipment, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems, and general operations. Must be proficient in general carpentry or skilled labor. This position is responsible for the successful delivery of all aspects of the ice events and maintenance services in order to guarantee a safe, clean facility. They will assist management in leading maintenance staff ensuring the quality of the operations department. This position is not eligible for remote work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Planning and execution of various facility projects including construction, repairs, and maintenance
- Performs and logs scheduled maintenance of equipment
- Assist with contractor related maintenance of the building and site
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and works cooperatively to provide quality customer service
- Ability to add oil to compressors, drain chiller pot, change Zamboni blade, accurately manage and log ice plant readings
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in managing building projects
- Responsible for completion of work orders assigned through management
- Assists manager with budget control
- Ensures facility readiness and smooth operation of events
- Ensures a safe environment for all patrons and employees by following the life safety and emergency program
- Working events and performing manager on duty responsibilities, as needed
- Implements and practice facility regulations, policies, and procedures
- Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions
- Provide clear, concise, and timely communication
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in a skilled labor role
- Ability to lead others and create a team atmosphere
- Previous experience in ice maintenance and installation preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and servicing industrial refrigeration systems
- Working knowledge of electrical circuits, outlets, lighting, and lighting ballasts
- Basic knowledge internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems and 12v vehicular systems
- Ability to add oil to compressors, drain chiller pot, change Zamboni blade, accurately manage, and log ice plant readings
- Required certificates - OSHA 10 Hour General Industry, Ammonia Safety, Crowd Management
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience driving forklifts, scissor & boom lifts
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Able to work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Demands and Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle large objects, tools, carts and drive machinery. Reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, and hear for up to 8-14 hours a day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function, and may be also exposed to adverse conditions including inclement weather, noise, fumes etc.
