As a User Experience Designer at Collins Aerospace, you will be responsible for working closely with other designers, product management, and software engineering to design and document the interface, interaction, and style standards across multiple products within the portfolio. Our design team supports products ranging from airports operational software to pilot applications and maintenance predictive health monitoring tools.
At Collins Aerospace, we are looking for people who go beyond just their functional job title. You will need a portfolio of work that showcases your ability to think conceptually, as well as an attention to detail. We are looking for collaborative experience as part of larger team, and the ability to communicate ideas and vision to cross-functional stakeholders. You should have experience in quickly translating business requirements to high fidelity designs and prototyping to getting them in front of customers to test and validate. You’re never settled with the first solution, and you are motivated to continually iterate on the experience.

What YOU will do:
YOU will lead UX research activities including moderating 1-1 interviews, usability testing, concept validation.
YOU will synthesize data from research and feedback from multiple partners into key design requirements.
YOU will lead the production of personas, journey maps, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups, using key tools such as Figma.
YOU will develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns.
YOU will work with product managers to plan projects for effective delivery while maintaining high standards for design within your product.
YOU will be expected to utilize a wide variety of design techniques to help identify and solve for complex business opportunities, including: Qualitative UX research, Concept & interaction design, Low & high-fidelity prototyping, & Design specs & documentation.

Education & Experience:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications you must have:
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Demonstrated expertise in UX/UI design software (Figma required). Skilled in developing wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes, and have experience collaborating with developers, including design hand-off.
Strong portfolio of work across multiple, complex products showcasing how content, design and UX work together to create great digital experiences.
East Coast Work Schedule: You must be available to work East Coast hours in order to better accommodate a globally distributed team.
