Raytheon’s Mission Capability and Verification Center (MCVC) located on White Sands Missile Range, NM is seeking a qualified electronics technician to join the team. Supporting all stages of electronics builds including CCA population, cable fabrication, and chassis integration. The candidate will work in an engineering lab environment to co-develop engineering hardware in accordance with internal requirements, as well as industry standards. Candidates will collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams across multiple projects to bring electronics design concepts to fruition, providing rapid engineering, fabrication, and prototyping solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle. This position also requires various skills and abilities to support general engineering services across MCVC programs and projects to include site and lab projects and general engineering field support to radar and missile programs.
What You Will Do
- Work with customers to deliver estimates and bids
- Fabricating electrical hardware from drawings, schematics, 3D models, written notes, and verbal instruction
- Co-developing electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical assemblies
- Originating and performing methods to verify, troubleshoot and analyze new hardware
- Performing electrical layout, construction, modification, testing, adjustment, verification and prove-in of prototype electronic equipment
- Attending electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to provide critical input to translate engineering design specifications into producible prototypes
- Assessing designs, ensuring producibility, maintainability, safety, and reliability
- Fabricating basic circuits and harnesses to meet quick turn requirements
- Support in field testing environment
- Maintaining control of all Electro-static Sensitive Device (ESD) precautions and processes – ensuring full compliance to established ESD processes.
- Support as needed outside of primary duties
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with schematics, electrical and/or mechanical drawings.
- Experience with instrumentation, and/or test equipment, i.e (oscilloscope, multi-meter and/or spectrum analyzer)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong understanding of engineering principals and design techniques
- Experience building, testing and repairing fiber optic cables and connections
- J-STD-001 Solder certification
- IPC 610 & 620 Acceptability certifications and inspection experience
- Experience analyzing and interpreting schematics and drawings to identify producibility issues
