Come be part of something special at CJ Logistics America! Position Responsibilities Our Accounting and Finance team is at the forefront of shaping strategic decisions across the company. As a member of the team, the Corporate Staff Accountant is responsible for the accuracy of a variety of financial records. The responsibilities include maintaining the financial records of the company by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts, as well as preparing reports.  A successful Corporate Staff Accountant combines excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills, knowledge of accounting principles, strong communication skills, and attention to detail. Because CJ Logistics loves collaboration and a team environment, this is not a remote position.  This role is located at our Corporate Office in Des Plaines, IL,  Candidates must live within a commutable distance of the corporate office.      Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
    • Record monthly journal entries and review P&L for completeness.  Work with business unit partners in multiple locations in the reporting and analysis of financial statement results including explaining monthly variances by business unit.
    • Assist with the month-end closing process to ensure accurate and timely financial reports
    • Prepare supporting tax schedules for income and property tax returns
    • Audit accounts payable batches to ensure the accuracy of coding, authorization, and amount
    • Responsible for recording, monitoring, and maintaining the company’s  fixed assets and CIP
    • Reconcile and ensure that M1 fixed assets are billed in a timely manner by working collaboratively with other teams
    • Complete monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation ensuring reconciling items are resolved promptly
    • Participate in an annual audit by updating preexisting schedules and completing analysis for ad-hoc requests
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities
     Job Qualifications- Required 
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting a requirement
    • Two plus years experience
    • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Access, and general ledger applications
    • ERP experience is required and JD Edwards/SAP experience a plus
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interactive and communication skills
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
    • High energy, self-motivated with an initiative
    • Results-oriented
    • Receptive to change
    • Work effectively in a team environment to enhance team efficiency
    • Ability to work under pressure and complete responsibilities within required deadlines
