We are seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to work onsite at Cedar Rapids, IA. 

What You Will Do 

  • Support Operations in equipment software/hardware interface development and troubleshoot 

  • Participate in system integration and project milestone completion 

  • Create custom automated equipment to improve operator safety and product quality 

  • Integrate operations equipment into an Industry 4.0 environment. This will include determining critical equipment information then specifying strategy to collect and analyze the data 

  • Keep abreast of advancements in microelectronics manufacturing processes to drive continuous innovation 

 

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

  • Experience performing system engineering for large complex systems to include requirements analysis and decomposition, Interface definition, root cause analysis, application design, integration, and test 

  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, identifying, and diagnosing systems administration, infrastructure and architecture 

 

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Experience developing prototypes and performing experiments 

  • Experience troubleshooting software problems on manufacturing equipment 

  • PLC programming experience 

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, or Ethernet/IP) 

  • Programming skills in languages such as Python, C#, or Java for developing and integrating software solutions 

  • Strong System Engineering and proven leadership experience 

  • Experience working proposals, developing and maintaining metrics, facilitating and providing training, and shaping a culture
