Physical Therapist Assistant- Full Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to our success in the following ways:

• Promote Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care

• Perform direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patient’s physician

• Follow the Plan of Care as established and supervised by the Physical Therapist, reporting any changes in patient status promptly

• Adhere to the State Practice Act Guidelines

• Verify the Plan of Care prior to each visit and provide care according to physician’s orders, assessment data, and established standards

• Incorporate patient care goals established in the Plan of Care into therapy care

• Instruct patients and/or families in safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.)

• Educate patients and/or caregivers on therapy home programs

• Work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment requiring handling, lifting, and transferring of patients

• Potentially work irregular hours, including call hours, as applicable

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association

• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid in the state of employment

• Six months or more experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred

• Able and willing to travel within the branch/office coverage area (up to 50%)

• Must have a dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently, with capacity to lift 50–100 lbs

Reporting Structure:
You will report to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or designee.
