Job Description:
Physical Therapist Assistant- Full Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to our success in the following ways:
Promote Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care
Perform direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patient’s physician
Follow the Plan of Care as established and supervised by the Physical Therapist, reporting any changes in patient status promptly
Adhere to the State Practice Act Guidelines
Verify the Plan of Care prior to each visit and provide care according to physician’s orders, assessment data, and established standards
Incorporate patient care goals established in the Plan of Care into therapy care
Instruct patients and/or families in safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.)
Educate patients and/or caregivers on therapy home programs
Work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment requiring handling, lifting, and transferring of patients
Potentially work irregular hours, including call hours, as applicable
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
Current, unrestricted PTA license valid in the state of employment
Six months or more experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
Able and willing to travel within the branch/office coverage area (up to 50%)
Must have a dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws
Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently, with capacity to lift 50–100 lbs
Reporting Structure:
You will report to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or designee.
