Corporations IT is a key investment area for Amadeus. We provide corporations with the tools to power and shape their employees’ travel experience and expense reimbursement, and to manage their own business more effectively –from pre-trip approval, travel shopping, policy compliance and expense auditing; as well as ‘Business Intelligence’ and ‘Duty-of-Care’ solutions.

The technical environment is composed of several components building together our flagship product cytric. The development is mainly done in java and a typical e-commerce architecture. The product has a >20years history and the components have different levels of technical debt and maturity. Recently we added to our portfolio a cloud native solution which integrates our services in the Microsoft Office 365 environment, especially for collaboration in Teams “cytric easy”. This solution is paving the way for our overall cloud migration with the final goal to have all our applications running on Azure.

The Manager of the Developer experience team will manage a team of highly skilled software engineers and architects creating, maintaining and evolving the CI/CD pipeline and the tools for our agile software development lifecycle. The team enables our developers to deliver with increased speed, efficiency, quality and engagement to production. The team supports the overall community by seamless integration of agile project management tools like jira and AZBoards.

We are piloting github for Amadeus and plan to migrate to it by the end of this year.

Being an Amadeus growth business, we are preparing our platform for massive growth and to support additional business cases so one of your challenges will be to make sure developers have an environment which allows for efficient deliveries and innovation.

Purpose

• Lead a Team of highly skilled, experienced and autonomous engineers to drive toolchain evolution
• The team is cross Amadeus locations with members in France, Germany, Bulgaria
• Work with the System and Solution Architects of the ARTs to define the CI/CD pipeline and make sure the tools are up to developer expectations and are fit for purpose
• Manage technical dependencies in cooperation with Platform and Operations and the developer community
• Drive our evolution to DevOps and Release on Demand from Feature toggles to automated deployment
  • Extend the CI/CD coverage: some components are not yet under full control of the CI/CD, and build and deployment pipelines must be created for them
  • Improving the CI/CD flow: we want to adopt a GitOps approach for our pipelines and increase our automation wherever possible
  • Improve the performance of CI/CD pipelines, identify bottlenecks and implement improvements
  • Migration to github from bitbucket
  • Move to Amadeus central jira

Specific competences / Professional Skills (IT Skills)

• Software development in Java version 8 and above
• Jenkins pipelines, or other tool providing CI/CD pipelines is a plus
• Build tools: Maven and/or (preferably) Gradle is a plus
• Experience with GitOps tools is a plus
• Some knowledge of Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ…) is a plus
• Experience with Oracle Database is a plus
