Campus Location: Recreation & Wellness Center, Marion, IN

Summary of Position:    A Graduate Assistant Basketball Coach works under the Head coach to support a college level basketball team. The candidate must provide instruction to student-athletes by showing techniques and working to improve performance during practice and games, provide feedback on individual workouts and group practice, assist in recruiting new team members and retaining current players. He will be responsible for recording video footage, assessing plays, overseeing team travel, preparing for games, identifying skills and weaknesses, and fulfilling other duties as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Must be committed to the Lordship of Christ, continually seeking personal growth through the regular practice of spiritual disciplines and creating spiritually rich environments for others to do the same 
• Support the IWU Athletics mission of developing students’ Spiritual Growth, Academic Achievement, Leadership Development, and Athletic Excellence 
• Provide instruction to student-athletes by showing techniques and working to improve performance during practice and games
• Provide feedback on individual workouts and group practice 
• Assist in recruiting new team members and retaining current players 
• Responsible for recording video footage, assessing plays 
• Oversee team travel 
• Prepare for games 
• Identify skills and weaknesses 
• Assist in leading discipleship initiatives 
• Fulfill other duties as needed

Education

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Current enrollment in a graduate program

• Experience in playing basketball
