Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient Wound Care to join the team. This role will be part-time day shift (20 hours per week – rotating 2-3 days per week); Office Hours are: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (must be flexible)

Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient Wound Care Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include taking vitals, stocking exam rooms, giving vaccines, blood draws, etc.
  • Formulates plans of care based on trends of similar patients including patient education and discharge planning. Identifies variances from expected outcomes. Evaluates patient outcomes and revises plans of care.
  • Collaborates with patients/families to identify realistic desired outcomes. Adapts standards and guidelines for individual patients. Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs including cultural, ethical and spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options, end of life options). Responds to changes in patients' needs and provides holistic care
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and families by modifying teaching strategies or content
  • Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards. Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process.
  • Participates in work groups and/or committees. Keeps informed of initiatives and incorporates the outcomes of team or committee work into practice.
  • Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

  • Work schedule: part-time day shift (20 hours per week – rotating 2-3 days per week); Office Hours are: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (must be flexible)
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree, within 2 years of date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Experience: RN experience in Wound Care, preferred.
  • Certification: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia, or an active multi-state; Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
