Senior Manager Data Governance (m/f/x)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Senior Manager of Data Governance (f/m/d). In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and implementation of robust data governance frameworks and processes to ensure alignment with our business strategy, objectives, and compliance standards.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Visionary Leadership: Define and maintain the vision for our organization's data governance initiatives, effectively communicating their value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Backlog Management: Own and manage the data governance processes backlog, prioritizing based on business value, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder input.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with data stewards, data architects, IT teams, and business units to implement data governance tools and processes effectively.

  • Agile Execution: Lead cross-functional teams in an agile framework to execute data governance initiatives with precision and efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of Data Governance processes and frameworks, staying abreast of industry best practices.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with data-related regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary contact for stakeholders regarding Data Governance-related questions, updates, and future plans.
  • Training and Change Management: Facilitate training and change management activities to drive the adoption of data governance practices across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Min. 5 to 7 years of proven experience in a Data Governance role, demonstrating a strong understanding of data governance and data management concepts.
  • Agile methodology certification is preferred.
  • Strong experience with data governance processes/frameworks and software platforms (preferably Collibra).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a clear vision for data governance.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
