Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking an Army Operations SME to join our team at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • Must have DoD Secret Clearance
  • Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

The Army Operations SME will support mission-critical planning, training, and operational integration efforts for U.S. Army III Armored Corps (IIIAC) at Fort Hood, Texas. This role requires deep knowledge of Army doctrine, operational planning, and multi-domain operations. The ideal candidate is a former senior military leader (NCO or Officer) with extensive experience in combat operations, staff planning, and training development.

Our Army Operations SME will be responsible for implementing and supporting the development of innovative, data-driven solutions supporting mission readiness and operational effectiveness. Your role leverages a deep understanding of Army operational processes and procedures to design and implement custom Power Platform solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert input to operational plans, exercises, and mission command systems in support of Army and Joint operations.
  • Design and implement realistic training scenarios for command post exercises (CPX), field training exercises (FTX), and simulations.
  • Develop and deliver training to military, government, and contractor personnel.
  • Evaluate unit performance and provide after-action reviews (AARs).
  • Advise on the application of Army and Joint doctrine, including FM 3-0, FM 6-0, and JOPES.
  • Support the development of SOPs and CONOPs.
  • Collaborate with developers and acquisition teams to ensure operational requirements are met in systems like IPPS-A, DCGS-A, and C2 platforms.
  • Conduct operational assessments and provide feedback to improve readiness, effectiveness, and mission alignment.
  • Analyze operational requirements and unit missions to align training content with real-world Army tasks and readiness goals.
  • Create scenario-based training aligned with Combined Arms Training Strategies (CATS) to support operational readiness.
  • Coordinate with contracting officers and operational planners to ensure contractor roles are embedded in training and mission execution.
  • Participate in or lead Train-the-Trainer programs and ensure instructional staff meet Army certification standards.
  • Incorporate Operational Contract Support (OCS) planning, contractor management, and risk mitigation into exercises to reflect real-world operational environments.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent military education).
  • Ten (10+) years of experience in Army operations, planning, or training.
  • Graduate of a military advanced operations/planning course (e.g., CGSC, SAMS, MEL-1).
  • Experience with Army mission command systems and operational planning tools.
  • A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. 
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and military planning software.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting COCOMs, Army Service Component Commands (ASCCs), or Joint Task Forces
  • Familiarity with DOTMLPF-P analysis and capability development
  • Experience with Joint and Coalition operations
