Registered Nurse
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Registered Nurse to join our team. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing support to the Eastern Region. This position requires advanced knowledge in the healthcare field, specifically with adults with developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for overseeing the health and safety of those we serve by ensuring the proper administration of medications, responding to and advising staff on proper responses to potentially adverse situations, and training PALS staff on DODD requirements.
This is full-time, in an office position at one of our Mingo locations. The hours for this position are generally 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. If you enjoy helping create processes to improve efficiency, then this is a great opportunity for you!
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the supervision and administration of medications and treatments.
- Train and advise staff on current medications of individuals including potential adverse reactions.
- Review of appropriateness of prescribed medications based on advanced knowledge and advise appropriate health care personnel of any potential areas of concern.
- Assessing the health and safety of the individuals-served residents per direct care staff concerns and post incident reports and advising staff on the best course of action based upon knowledge, judgment, and discretion.
- Ensure medical appointments and follow-ups are being completed within designated timeframes.
- Train employees in Medication Administration Certification (levels 1 through 3) per DODD guidelines and requirements, and complete site-specific delegation of medication administration.
- Train employees on medical conditions and medical equipment to ensure proper treatment and safe use.
- Assisting management in the review of medication administration and advising on deficiencies in the process and appropriate trainings or disciplinary actions.
- Completing documentation – e.g., Weekly Report, daily nursing notes, Medication Administration Record (MAR), Treatment Administration Record (TAR), physician orders, and medical visit forms.
- Maintain a medical binder with pertinent medical information for individuals served.
- Communicate medical concerns of individuals-served with physicians and/or other medical professionals and then educating and working with team members to ensure treatment recommendations applied appropriately.
- Attend meetings e.g. medication reviews, admission/discharge, and special team meetings.
- Must be part of Individual Service Plan (ISP) if medication is involved.
- Review, Prepare and file medical related documents.
- Assist in gathering and preparing all medical documents for reviews with county, state, and federal review agencies
- Staying current on industry standards for the position and the DODD field.

Qualification:
- Registered Nurse for the state of Ohio
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
- Thorough understanding of cloud servers
