Staff Accountant (req 101085)

Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with preparations of various accounting schedules and office related duties for Whitney Young Health; including, reconciliations, journal entries, reviewing accounts and department postings for accuracy.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares all entries to close the book and reconciles various accounts and prepares monthly and yearly financial statements,
• Reviews purchase orders, payroll, allocations and other reports, for compliance and proper documentation. Coordinates data requirements for reporting with Director of Accounting.
• Demonstrates a good communicates with management, employees and supervisors in an effective manner,
• Cover the job for purchasing, bill and check process in the absence of AP clerk, 
• Covers the job for the grant activities in the absence of Grant Account, including retrieving monthly spending and assisting to generate expenditure/voucher reports as required. 
• Demonstrates excellence in both internal and external customer service.
• Understands and is able to effectively communicate HIPAA compliance, corporate compliance and client confidentiality.
• Ensures and/or remains in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Adheres to the National Patient Safety Goals as defined by the Joint Commission and the Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with one (1) year of business related experience; has practical skills using Microsoft Office tools; including MS Word and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with Sage Intacct, Paylocity, Microsoft Dynamics SL, Yooz Purchase System, and Health care management experience is a plus.

Salary range: $28.50 - $32.50 hourly
