About the role

Description

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency’s policies and applicable laws. The Manager is responsible for their Team’s Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Development of program and instructional materials. This includes performance, performance metrics, work instructions, forms, and system use. They ensure facilities, equipment, and other assets are operated, maintained, and remain in safe working order.  This position will supervise Career and Technical Education instructors assigned at the warehouse. The Manager ensures employees actively participate in problem solving and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Responsible for their team’s safety, quality, delivery, productivity and development
  • Instruct staff, students, and volunteers in the processes of running a warehouse.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
  • Responsible for communicating with all subcontractors and mobile food bands regarding contracts, food needs, and pick-up schedules.
  • Supervise the activities of workers and volunteers engaged in receiving, storing, and processing products.
  • Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory personnel.
  • Plan, develop, or implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of correspondence, reports, operations, and safety manuals.
  • Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control, or purchasing.
  • Review invoices, bills of ladings to make sure they are accurate, and information is uploaded to the appropriate website.
  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and inform the maintenance department of anything needing repairs or replacements in a timely manner.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
  • Other duties as assigned 

  

Minimum Qualifications: 3-5 years progressive experience in a distribution and logistics role or combination of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
