Job Description Summary

This position supports the Pregnancy and Perinatal Research Center (PPRC), a division of the Center for Women's Health and Reproductive Medicine (CWHRM), formerly known as CRRWH. This individual is responsible for managing and processing human biospecimen samples, sample banking, record-keeping and sample shipment as needed. Other activities include tracking study supplies and equipment maintenance. Maintain strict adherence to SOPs, quality control and quality assurance policies consistent with study guidelines and other best practices.

Job Description

The Resource Technologist A plays a critical role in the support, maintenance, and success of the PPRC sample repository.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently manage PPRC sample repository: receive samples, organize, process, store, and ship human biospecimen from PPRC studies

• Manage biospecimen database by creating and printing sample labels for PPRC studies as well as scanning/entering biospecimens on database

• Process and perform a variety of assays on a variety of human samples including ELISA, RNA Isolation, Protein Isolation and Concentration, and other assays as needed

• Collaborate with clinical research teams to regularly coordinate and execute the transport of samples between the clinics and laboratory spaces

• Responsible for tracking studies supplies and research equipment maintenance including maintaining inventories, working with Purchasing, enforcing budget, and identify cost containment opportunities

• Additional responsibilities as assigned
