Cyber Security Specialist – US Defense
Indianapolis, IN


As a Cyber Security Specialist for Rolls-Royce, you’ll play an integral role being the Subject Matter Expert (SME) by providing guidance on the application of policies, standards, and best practice to support the IT delivery teams. You will also assist the team in developing and defining Information Security policies, standards, guidelines and procedure to meet various security frameworks such as ISO27000, NIST 800 series and CMMC. You will be supporting the development and maintenance of the global security policies with specific interest in ensuring US DoD requirements are considered and met.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with team members, key customers, partner companies and stakeholders to improve cyber security risk management.

  • Develop and implement new security policies and processes to address continuous change and evolution of cyber.

  • Providing advice on suitable tactical and strategic solutions focused on business priorities, including authoritative advice and guidance on the application and operation of security controls.

  • Identifying cyber security risk using a defined US Defence customer aligned methodology and delivering proportionate risk mitigations through identification and implementation of controls.

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the global security policies with specific interest in ensuring US DoD and FOCI requirements are considered.

  • Act as the Cyber Security representative on large projects providing advice on the implementation of cyber security policies and standards.

  • Driving continuous improvement by recommending and collecting key cyber security metrics for reporting to senior management

  • Produce and deliver cyber security materials for the Rolls-Royce North America Board and Government Security Committee

  • Developing productive working level relationships with key US and UK government cyber security entities, as well as cyber security experts, in academia and the private sector

  • Developing productive relationships with a range of internal business and functional stakeholders to develop and implement Rolls-Royce cyber engagement strategy.

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate`s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology with 7+ years’ experience in information technology security experience OR;

  • A Bachelor`s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology with 5+ years’ experience in information technology security experience OR;

  • A Master`s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology with 3+ years’ experience in information technology security experience OR;

  • A JD/PhD in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology with 0+ years’ experience in information technology security experience  with 0+ years’ experience OR;

  • In lieu of degree 9+ years’ experience in information technology security experience

  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires US Citizenship
     

Preferred Requirements:  

  • Experience in the defense sector in US

  • CMMC/NIST Framework experience

  • 2+ years of experience managing US classified systems as either an ISSM or ISSO

  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, or related information security certifications

  • Experience with Linu
