Job Description
AECOM is seeking experienced Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) in the state of Connecticut. This position will report to one of the AECOM offices in the Northeast region including but not limited to Rocky Hill CT, Chelmsford MA, Providence RI, Buffalo NY, Albany NY, or Piscataway NJ.
This position will support Project Managers and teams on leaky underground storage tank (UST) site investigation and remediation projects as an LEP licensed in the state of Connecticut. The candidate will also provide support for project management, regulatory compliance, data management and technical evaluation, and report preparation for a leaky UST environmental investigation and remediation projects and related work throughout the Northeast.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute a scope of work that will satisfy the state requirements to address contaminated properties
- Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.
- Project Management tasks including developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules and tracking costs.
- Data management, evaluation and report writing including drafting environmental investigation work plans and reports and drafting health and safety plans.
- Preparing cost estimates for field investigation work and for reporting tasks.
- Will require some regional travel for field visits
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Geology, Soil Science, Engineering, Environmental Science or closely related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience and/or equivalent of experience and/or education.
- Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP), licensed in the state of CT
- Valid Driver’s License, subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening
- Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of environmental consulting experience which includes UST regulations experience.
- 4+ years of experience as CT LEP
- Data evaluation, interpretation, and technical reporting experience.
- Experience preparing draft work plans and reports for environmental investigations.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and annual updates.
- Experience working for clients in the oil and gas market sector.
- Experience working with environmental regulatory agencies in CT, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, and/or VT.

Offered rate of compensation in Buffalo, NY will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $115,000.
