- Prepares and scans all paper-based medical records using imaging software, ensuring accuracy and quality according to departmental procedures.
- Indexes documents under correct type and level within the electronic database.
- Reviews scanned and indexed documents to verify accuracy, completeness, and legibility.
- Unpacks and sorts incoming mail delivered to the Health Information Management department. Answers incoming calls and assists with providing customer service.
- Assists with workflow and process improvement, participating in relevant activities and reporting issues as needed.
- Maintains confidentiality of all medical records and patient information.
Education Requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:
RHIT/RHIA certification, preferred.

One year of experience in hospital setting or medical record department, required.
