About The Team:

The Platform Engineering team plays a critical role in our company's success, building and maintaining mission-critical systems that power our streaming platform and support our omni-channel business. Our team of Embedded Engineers support product teams in the Engineering organization, while a core group of Engineers designs, implements, and maintains shared platform infrastructure. As the Senior Manager of Platform Engineering, you will lead this talented team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, efficiency, and reliability of our technology platform.

About You:

As the ideal candidate for the Staff DevOps Engineer role on our Platform Engineering team, you should have a strong technical background in DevOps methodologies, automation, and infrastructure as code. You have experience building and scaling mission-critical systems with high availability and reliability, and are passionate about driving operational excellence. You are able to lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, helping them build, deploy, and manage our infrastructure across various environments. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features, while also maintaining and improving existing systems. You are driven to continually improve our technology platform and infrastructure, while also balancing the needs of the business and ensuring operational excellence.

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar. Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• 5+ years working in production level environments, preferably in DevOps, SRE, or IT operations
• Must have a broad AWS and GCP cloud native experience along with Terraform
• Must have experience with managing containerized infrastructure in Kubernetes.
• Experience with Vault, Packer or any other HashiCorp tools is desirable
• Experience with SQL, MySQL, Postgress and Mongo databases
• Experience in designing and deploying a variety of data sovereignty-driven (e.g. GDPR, etc.) designs
• Should collaborate extensively with other engineers to build tools and systems that support our services and allow engineers to deliver high quality software.
• Significant experience in managing Linux based infrastructure
• Experience at least in two or more scripting languages is desired
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a small, multi-disciplined, fast-paced team environment
• The ability to consistently deliver results with quick turnaround
• Strong spirit of innovation, self-starter, independent, and with ability to come up
• with solutions to meet business problems
• Strong desire to learn new things and pass knowledge acquired onto others

Pluses:

• Knowledge of streaming video delivery, video encoding workflows, video origin architecture, and issues of scale for video delivery
• Big data and payments domain
• Key security concepts such as cryptography, authentication, authorization, security protocols
• Typescript / Golang knowledge
