Job Description
This EHS Coordinator is responsible for providing day to day EHS support to the facility locations and operating teams within the designated region. Support includes coaching, teaching, and training field personnel on safe operating behaviors and the design, development, and implementation of safety and risk control programs.
- Provide daily and continuous safety support to designated region.
- Plans and assigns tasks, fills positions, motivates, coaches and measures the performance of individual contributors.
- Establishes and develops a positive team environment and performance driving team dynamics.
- Plans, supervises, and controls the activities of a team that provides operational support for a business segment, group, or team.
- Develops a clear understanding of company goals and objects to ensure overall objectives of the group are met.
- Perform on site facility and work site visits - 8/week – 32/month – 384/year
- Travel Requirement - 80% (This role requires frequent travel, significant time spent driving, and regular visits to job sites)
- Conduct compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support AWP Safety - EHS Management.
- Maintain, audit, and update as needed AWP Safety - SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training.
- Coach, train, guide, and mentor the regional employees through the AWP Safety Management System.
- Review accidents/incidents which occur in designated region and conduct field audits, reporting and manage corrective actions.
- Participate in and support detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years of work experience in the EHS field.
- Minimum education is an Associate's Degree in EHS or other applicable field.
- Bachelors degree preferred in Safety Engineering, Safety Management, or related field.
- EHS certification a plus
- Intermediate knowledge of OSHA orders and recognized safety regulations and standards.
- Intermediate knowledge in conducting and evaluating complex root cause analysis investigations and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions and action plans.
- Intermediate knowledge of conducting hazard evaluations for complex or widely impactful / enterprise applicable jobs and recommending and evaluating the effectiveness of controls.
- Intermediate knowledge of exposure to safety and health risks.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office software applications, software management systems, and EHS management systems and reporting platforms.
- Must be able to and enjoy connecting with field-level customers and contacts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with your team
- Contributes to the engagement and ongoing development of AWP Safety employees
- Must adhere to and promote safe workplace practices
- Valid drivers’ license and ability to meet AWP Safety driver standards
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include but are not limited to the following:
- Time will be split between field and office environments
- The position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving vehicles, and occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites
- Noise levels in the work environment and job sites can be loud <
