As an Industrial Engineer (IE) of DRAM Engineering Group (DEG) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will work with a team of brilliant Engineers, multi-functional Planners and Program Managers to solve sophisticated problems! Your key functions include projecting Operating Expenditures (OpEx), cost strategy, early product life-cycle demand modelling, lead Development Chip and Sustaining Products; Product Development Team (PDT). As the PDT Lead you will be responsible for achieving the program targets captured in the project release document (schedule, quality, costs, manufacturing readiness and budget), Additional functions include collaboration with multi-functional teams in support of product development demand, enabling new product flows and manufacturing exceptions, and assisting with data attribute analysis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage non-revenue generating (NRG) wafer and OPEX/cost strategy for all DEG products

  • Lead discussions with customers across the Technology & Products Group (TPG), Global Supply Chain (GSC), and Business Units to capture and model DEG product development requirements

  • Design and/or improve models as needed in order to enable accurate and effective data representative of DEG product development requirements

  • Analyze data, make data driven decisions and recommendations to customer groups

  • Find opportunities to minimize expenditures

  • Communicate OPEX strategy forecast to Sr. leadership and multi-functional product teams

  • Provide mentorship through debug and resolution of NRG wafer forecasting issues

  • Forecast long-term engineering demand and ensure demand records are as specific as necessary to meet requirements, including special flow requirements and exceptions

  • Collaborate with GSC teams to represent DEG product development demand signals through the appropriate systems and communications

  • Direct and/or be an individual contributor in Development Chip and Sustaining Product PDTs

  • Support definition of efficient logistical flows for ever-evolving Eng solutions. Includes new product flow definition, attribute creation and maintenance

  • Provide experimental support for Product Engineering development (reflows, fuse sort)

  • Manage engineering inventory and product line cleanup (Qualification release, excursions, disposition)

  • Provide technical training and expertise, including the creation and maintenance of documentation supporting evolving job functions

  • We work in a distributed team with representation in Japan, Taiwan, Virginia and Idaho and our Manufacturing Facilities have worldwide representation with majority in Asia

  • Availability to attend evening meetings as needed

Education:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production/Operations Management (POM) or Minimum 5 years equivalent experience in Semi-Conductor Industry.
