Job Description
Robert Bosch Automotive Steering LLC seeks Senior Software Engineer – Team Lead (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 15000 N Haggerty Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of embedded software engineers to develop and configure software for Electrical Power Steering customer projects. Drive embedded software strategies and flexible integration strategies. Contribute to the development activities and definition of software concepts and designs. Provide guidance and coordination to the team and contribute to improvement of problem-solving abilities. Develop core technical competencies. Responsible for recruiting, talent selection, and growth of a software team. Provide vision, and organizational structure while encouraging personnel development. Interface with Product Owners, Project Leads, external and internal customers. Demonstrate a drive for solving customer problems and cascade this drive across the team. Support the definition of the global software strategy and roadmap. Define individual goals and development plans jointly with associates, conduct performance reviews. Support the analysis of new requirements and acquisition activities. Contribute to software process improvement activities. Support and implement department training plans. Support assessments and audits to verify applicable quality and safety standards. This position supervises 11 Software Development Engineers. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of experience as an Automotive Software Developer, Embedded Software Developer, or other occupation/position/job title involving automotive embedded software development. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1) Software development lifecycle and processes for automotive applications; (2) Agile methods and frameworks; (3) Embedded C programming; (4) Developing software according to ASPICE or CMMI; (5) Development for a safety critical system (ISO 26262); (6) Cybersecurity features, such as secure communication; (7) IBM Rational DOORS or any requirements management system; and (8) Vehicle electrical architecture and communication such as CAN, tools such as CANalyzer, CANape or CANoe.
